In today’s hectic world everything is constantly in motion. Week-round, employees are working hard at their jobs, businesses are busy at work providing their service or product to the market. No matter the day of the week, there are routines to be fulfilled and tasks to complete to survive in the fast pace commercial world. Some of the most essential people are those who maintain the infrastructure and logistics to make operations of the commercial facilities functional. As most know, occupations from pluming and handy-work, to bus and truck driving are the jobs that make today’s society a possibility, and for those, Ford offers the super versatile, modern van: the Ford Transit.

Replacing the Ford Econoline, the 2015 Ford Transit comes in all shapes and sizes, with various wheel base options and several roof heights. Ford also offers several different engines including their EcoBoosted powerhouse, the Turbocharged 3.5L V6 with direct injection to combat the competition. With so many options, one thing comes standard: the contemporary stylish interior with a plethora of standard and optional features that leaves its competition in the dust.

When it comes to engineering a super-capable van, Ford took versatility seriously. Today, Ford’s customers are so diverse that no van, truck, nor car can fit all their demands. Therefore, Ford’s engineers had to create a palette for commercial customers to assemble the vehicle in accordance to their business’ needs from dimensions such as length and height, to high-tech accessibility options such as MyFord Touch. For body styles, Ford offers a van, wagon, cutaway, and a chassis cab. For roof heights, Ford offers a low 83.6 inch option, a 100.8 inch medium option, and a 110.1 inch high option which allows the consumer to specify their cab height. This is optimal because depending on cargo and organizational needs, the operator can select low-medium cab heights for a passenger oriented purposes or an high cab height for racks/bins or other tall equipment. Van and wagon body styles have 3 different selections for wheelbase: 130 inch Regular Wheelbase, 148 inch Long Wheelbase, and a 148 inch Extended Body Wheelbase. Different doors are available based on the wheelbase and roof, including hinged, single slider, and dual slider to accommodate any accessibility required in the field. In addition to door options, much like the econoline, customers can select from multiple glass configurations based on their needs.

With so many different bodies and wheelbases to select from, Ford also offers a great line of engines to choose from as well. The 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 is the standard option, yet with the largest displacement. The 3.5L EcoBoosted V6 is the new engine that joins the Transit engine line-up in the new 2015 model this summer.  Ford’s last engine option is the yet smaller 3.2L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel inline 5 cylinder. The diesel engine option provides immense torque, almost 350 ft-LB of torque! This gives the high-end hullers a peace of mind, freeing them to pull anything they please. All styles and heights are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission allowing for the easiest operation possible, a basic constant that doesn’t vary because it doesn’t have to.

Ford’s designers placed an emphasis on productivity, optimizing this vehicle for its commercial use. When consumers purchase this vehicle, they have the option of upfitting the vehicle based on their needs, allowing companies to purchase upfitted fleets that are ready for use. Ford even offers a great upfitting site where the consumer may personalize their Transit using a virtual assembler, and then order that same exact, pre-upfitted vehicle! Conclusively, Ford’s 2015 Transit offers 3 great engines, all of which address fuel economy, and reliable performance. The numerous body configurations offer the consumer to make about any size van/wagon that they might need and upfit it on the spot! The new stylish interior will set a standard for van models, and will certainly resemble many other Ford interiors. The productions starts this upcoming month, with Transits scheduled to hit the lots some time this summer. Please stand by for a drive test review and more information coming to you soon!
