Every Thursday night this summer (7/4 Excluded) you will find the Wings and Wheels Air and Auto show at Minute Man Air Field from 5-8 PM: 302 Boxborough Road in Stow, MA. As a Gold Sponsor, Acton Ford will have a different car present every Thursday.
On Thursday, June 6th, we were on hand to check out this fun event in person. Here is our report. There were about 60 cars present (not bad for the first night!), from early antiques to modern luxury cars. The theme for the night was American cars. To highlight these cars, the event organizers separated the American made cars from the foreign make cars. The event plants to rotate themes on a weekly basis including, British, Italian etc, but is open to all cars on a weekly basis. There was a lot to see from some very interesting classics, to modern street vehicles. In addition to the cars, there were planes on hand as well, from a few older planes to a couple of ultralights.
We brought a 2014 Ford Mustang GT along for the ride.
The event is sponsored by the rotary clubs of Nashoba Valley, Acton-Boxborough, and Maynard. Many members were on had to direct traffic, and to help out. The even is also catered by Nancy’s Air Field Cafe. There was beer and wine on hand, along with popcorn, brick oven pizza, hot dogs and burgers.
Even though the skies were a little threatening, there was still a good crowd and plenty to see. A big thank you to the Rotary Clubs and Nancy’s Air Field Cafe for a very enjoyable event.
