Are you looking for something to do with the kids over February school vacationweek? Check out some of these local events and links for some fun ideas.

Winterfest Weekends at Fruitlands Museum

Every Saturday and Sunday, noon – 5PM from January 12 – February 24, join us for WinterFest Weekends. Pack up your sleds, x-country skis and snowshoes and  get ready for the OMG hill! The firepit will be blazing. Bring the kids, grandma and even the dog! Eastern Mountain Sports will be on hand on February 10 with snowshoe and x-country ski clinics. Equipment rentals will be available all day!

Admission: Nonmembers $5 per person, Museum Members are BOGO.

Discovery Museum School Vacation Week – Acton, MA

The Discovery Museum, located in Acton, MA, has an abundance of fun, hands on learning activities to keep your youngster busy. Join them to celebrate National Engineering Week with events such as Under Pressure, Marble Runs and Pasta Challenge to name a few.  Check out the web site for more information.

Nashoba Valley Ski

You don’t have to drive far to take advantage of great skiing at great prices. Nashoba Valley Ski is offering 3-day lesson and lift tickets for $185.

We offer three-day vacation program for adults and juniors.
Open to age 5 and up
The package includes an all-day lift ticket and a one-hour group lesson at 10:15 am or 12:00 noon (one lesson per person per day).
If renting, please allow 1 hour to be fitted and collect your equipment for the day.
February vacation programs are offered from Feb. 18 – Feb. 24.
Pick any three days during one of these periods.
Classes must be used within the specified timeframe or the lesson, lift ticket, and rental is forfeited.You must check in at the ski school desk each day.

Nashoba is also open daily during vacation week for Tubing.

School Vacation Week at the EcoTarium – Worcester, MA

When school’s out, the EcoTarium is the place to be. Each February, April and December, our education team cooks up creative ways to learn and have fun — all designed especially for school-age kids and their families. These theme-based weeks are filled with activities focused around a particular science or nature topic. Many activities are free with admission.

Warm up this February school vacation week at the EcoTarium’s EcoCasino, a host of fun activities and games with an “Eco” spin!  Challenge yourself to an all new version of “Go Fish,” take a chance with “Bone Bingo,” test your skills with “Scat-tleboard,” discover how a board game can impact nature by playing “Beetle Checkers,”and place bets on the “Chinchilla Craps Table.” Then enjoy and compare games from across cultures and time in the popular traveling exhibit, Playing Together: Games, which ends on March 31.

Join us for February Vacation Week! Make art, go on a fun tour of the galleries, and help create a collaborative art installation as part of Cogan Family Foundation Vacation Week Adventures. Or enroll your child in one or more of our February Vacation Classes for children and teens (registration required; see listings for prices and times).

Visit the MFA with kids all year long. Children 6 and under are always FREE, and kids 7 to 17 get free admission during nonschool hours.
