This week we would like to highlight a local business, Quick Lane of Acton. Quick Lane is a full service repair and maintenance garage that provides service and repairs on all makes and models of vehicles. We will be doing a two part article introducing you to Quick Lane. I had the pleasure to sit down with Eric Delgado on this frosty morning, and learn a lot more about his journey to becoming the manager at Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center of Acton, which is owned and operated by Acton Ford.
Quick Lane Manager - Eric Delgado
From the time he was a little boy watching his father work on cars, Eric was always interested in vehicles. After graduating high school he attended ITT Tech in Chelsea in the early 80s where he graduated with his Associates degree in automotive technologies in just one year. He had the desire to be out in the field working, so took on double the workload to complete the program early. His first position was with Acton Tire. From there he took a position at a Chevy dealership in Fitchburg. Entering back into the world of tires, he managed a Firestone store in Auburn. During this time a friend called him about a position with a Quick Lane center in Leominster, which was later moved to Lunenburg. He then ran the Ford Service department until he moved to Harr Ford, where he was a technician and ran the used card department.
Over the years he stayed connected with the Quick Lane name, but took some time off for a few years to pursue other interests. Eventually his wife went back to school and with the kids were getting older, he decided to reenter the workforce at which time he applied for a position at Acton Ford as a technician. At that time Acton Ford had just opened the local Quick Lane, located on the corner of Powermill Road and Rt. 62 in Acton, adjacent to Acton Ford. Eric was offered the challenge of taking on the management role at Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center of Acton. He accepted the position and has now been overseeing the day to day operations at Quick Lane of Acton for the past year.
Since becoming the manager, Eric has really taken his role to heart and has a personal goal of wowing customers when they walk in the door. From the friendly and knowledgeable customer service he and the staff provide, to the competitive pricing and wide variety of services offered, Eric seems to have found his niche.
