Predicted to hit the lots early next year, Ford has announced the specifics of it’s 2015 Edge. The engine line-up will include 3 ecoboosted engines’s, the 2.0L 4 cylinder, 3.5L (AWD only), and the 2.7L twin turbo (AWD only). The new 2.7 is expected to provide an excellent mix of power and fuel economy, when coupled with auto start stop technology.
“No one’s ever built a six-cylinder engine like this,” said Nair. “It combines a host of advanced technologies found throughout the industry to create one of the most technically advanced and efficient engines ever designed.”
1 Inch longer than it’s predecessor’s wheelbase, you can notice this inside, with more legroom in the front and back. It will also be equipped with high-end tech features such as adaptive steering technology, blind spot monitoring system, enhanced active park assist, hands-free liftgate, and a glovebox knee airbag. Inside, the cabin’s storage areas have been remade, and you have the option of a 8-inch LCD touch screen supporting the latest version of SYNC with MyFord Touch. Trim levels will include SE, SEL, Sport, and for the first time, top-level Titanium!
Overall, the new Edge will showcase super modern Ford driver assistance tech, coupled with the award-winning eco-boosters to create a “crossover SUV” market monster. Sport and utility has never been executed like this before, so stay posted for some first drives!
