If you are like me, you are currently in the middle of the Holiday season rush, tying up those loose ends while trying to relax and enjoy the season with family and friends. After weeks of prep work, all of a sudden it is here. Once the Holidays pass, I sometimes find myself sitting down at the beginning of January and wondering, “Ok, now what?” While we all enjoy some down time after the busy season, there is still a lot going on in our local communities. I would like to share a few events that may spark your interest.

Concord: 17th Annual Family Trees: A Celebration of Children’s Literature
The Concord Museum is hositing this unique holiday event. What makes this event so special is it’s focus on children’s literature. Volunteers have taken their artistic inspiration from either the storyline, setting or illustrations of various children’s books and decorated each tree.
Taken from the Concord Museum web site “A love of books and reading is a lifelong treasure passed from adult to child, from generation to generation. The 17th annual Family Trees: A Celebration of Children’s Literature at the Concord Museum in historic Concord, Massachusetts gives Concord’s renowned literary tradition a creative twist. From November 21, 2012 through January 1, 2013, the Museum’s galleries are filled with 38 fanciful trees of all shapes and sizes, decorated with original ornaments inspired by acclaimed children’s storybooks and contemporary picture book favorites. This year, the Lead Sponsor for Family Trees is Barefoot Books. Media Sponsor is the Massachusetts Teachers Association.”
Children and adults, alike, will enjoy this interesting take on literature. Find more information through the link in the title. Don’t delay, the exhibit is here through Jan. 1st.
